My internet browser has been crashing and my computer has been getting blue screen of deaths for the past 1-2 months. Today i booted with memtes86+ and saw a lot of red.

i then proceeded to test both of my ram sticks which are dual channel 2 x 4 or 4x2? gigs so 8 gigs in total.

i'm getting 3 long beeps with both ram in together or one by itself.

Custom pc by the way and the specs are

azrock z77 extreme 4-m motherboard

corsair tx650m 650 watt power supply

2 ram sticks each 4 gigs ram g skills ripjaw x compatible with z77

i5-2500k processor

1 tb harddrive barracuda or seagate don't remember

hyper 212 plus cpu fan

no graphics card

i've had this rig for a little bit over a year, how can the ram go bad this quickly?

What's going on? my computer was booting up fine before this.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

just tested both ram individually and the computer boots with both of them. YES, at least this isn't a hardware failure!

But if my ram sticks are fine why all the red when i run memtest86+?

i don't have a genuine version of windows 7 and have been updating it, though this crashing and bsod problem happened before. Could it be a problem?

i do this in the bios? With both ram sticks inserted or just the good one? i'm getting a lot of red on one of them on memtest86+

the site has been loading slow for me preventing me from posting. I took out the supposed bad ram stick and am now just using the one 4 gig one at the moment.

And couldn't find the DRAM voltage in the BIOS.
