Hello, I've been having problems with my setup, I came home one day and found my computer not starting. I went inside, replugged everything and started it and the cpu, gpu, hdd, lights ran fine, but I didn't get a display.

I tried removing the cmos-nothing
I tried removing ram sticks for a beep- heard notHong
I bought a new processor -nothing
I tried an alternative psu- nothing
I tried a new gpu- nothing
I tried another case- nothing
I tried removing the hdd - heard nothing
I tried moving everything to 2 other motherboards and I still have the same problem( a stock hp mobo, an asrock and an msi, am3 )
I bought a solid state and tried powering it up with just the ssd still nothing
I plugged a speaker into the first mobo and the problem switched too not starting at all
I also tried using a corsair case but it doesn't power up at all.

Solution
Since you mention cardboard box, I think the motherboard's been broken. The curvy layer between the 2 top toughened paper is uneven, and can cause damage to the board.
Asrock 990fx, bottomline am3 msi board and an 5 year old hp mob

I think it's my case, I don't have the mobo on it, it's lying on a cardboard box inside the case, I don't think it would cause shortenings
