Computer not downloading at normal speed

I just did a fresh reinstall of windows 10 home because it got corrupted last time. But before that my computer use to download at least a 1 MBPS but know it is only getting up to 500 KBPS thats on anything downloading,copying files, and torrents.


note: on speedtest.com it says i should get 16.25Mbps download.

So Speedtest says downloads should be up to about 2MBps.

Well then since that's talking out to the INTERNET (outside your house) everything seems to be working properly.

My best guess is that the site you try to download from just isn't giving you the data any faster. I really can't think of another explanation.

Okay, it sounds like maybe there's something very wrong with how fast your SSD or HDD is working (though then BOOTUP and using the PC should be pretty slow). Try using something like THIS to see what you max out at: http://www.hdtune.com/

(set file size to 128KB)

An SSD should be roughly level (i.e. 200MBps), and an HDD should drop so the...

(set file size to 128KB)

An SSD should be roughly level (i.e. 200MBps), and an HDD should drop so the last part is about half (only works up to 2TB so if you have a higher capacity would be higher than 50% max on the low end).
