Computer not going to sleep during game

I set the gaming computer to sleep after 30 minutes, has always worked fine. Unfortunately the kids leave Gmod, Minecraft, Roblox or other game running then leave the computer. The monitor goes to sleep but not the computer. Any ideas? I would like it to go to sleep even if these games are running. Searching online just finds answers regarding going to sleep when not wanted but I have the opposite problem. I suppose these games may be tricking the computer into thinking there is input but I thought input was denoted by mouse or keyboard which is unmoving for hours plus the monitor goes to sleep as expected, why not the computer? Would appreciate any thoughts, thanks.

Solution
Computer hardware will not go to sleep if there is any hard drive activity (eg a game running), regardless of whether keyboard or mouse is being used or not.

Monitor still goes off though because that doesn't affect whatever is actively running on the hard drive, it can still continue running even if the monitor is switched off.

So stop hard drive activity (close down the game) if you want the PC to go to sleep.
