Question Computer not picking up amp when connected

Hey, so I'm using my dads old amp, a yamaha rx v-550. I've connected it to a subwoofer and speakers but when i connect the 3.5 jack into the CS or SS out from the motherboard of my computer, i cant see those options in the audio settings. Its a 3.5 jack into the CS out into the amp, then banana plugs into my speakers. Rca cables for the amp to sub. How do I fix this problem, or is there a special method that i need to follow to set up a sort of 2.1 system on a computer?

What options are you looking for in the settings? It won't see the amp as some Yamaha device, you need to set your default audio to the sound card. What port are you using on the amp?

OK for 2.1, you have to tell the PC, Yes, I HAVE SUB, then select either stereo, or 2.1 if offered. Also if there is a Bass Management yes/no, select YES. More refined settings typical L+R SMALL, Crossover 80hz. This is just for the configuration.

On the actual hookup, CS=Center/Sub, so you take your 3.5mm stereo plug and you have to select the "S" (SUB) wire along with ground and plug this into the AUX/CD/LINE port of your amp.

That should do it.
