Question computer not showing display

My computer isn't showing anything on the Display. the computer will show the lights on the motherboard and the fans will turn on but the screen shows nothing but black. what are the troubleshooting steps i need to go through? the computer was crashing pretty frequently but i never wrote down the codes(like a dummy!) any help is appreciated. sometimes(before it did this wouldn't do anything thing) if i let it sit it would work. but now nothing. Please help!

Built about 9 months ago. I only know the very basics. no specifics.
i know its a Ryzen 5 processer. no idea on model
Geforce 1650 graphics card.
i know i have 16 gigs of RAM
and the motherbord is a MSI Pro 550
This WAS working when built and has till recently

It is very difficult to determine the issue without specifics. It could be something as simple as needing a new HDMI cable? it could be a problem with the psu, gpu, motherboard etc?

I do know it's not the HDMI Cable. I'm looking for ideas on what to check and troubleshooting ideas
