computer not turning after i vaccumed it

This morning I decided to vaccume my fan and heatsink because they was covered in dust, so I fully disconnected them from the motherbored so that they was not even touching it then I disconnected the fan from the heat sink then vacuumed both of them. After I put them back together and stuck it back on the motherbored I tried turning the computer on but only the fan and power supply worked. The light at front (to indicate that the PC is on) is off but the other light (which looks like a barrel) is on. I've tried checking all the wires inside and I have disconnected the mouse and keyboard ect but nothing. I have now ran out off ideas and I'm now completely stuck of what to do. Any help is appreciated thanks.

I gather you're talking about the cpu heatsink and fan? Did you clean off the old thermal paste (with isopropyl alcohol) and put new paste on?

You didn't pull the cpu out I hope?

Vacuuming is never a good idea. Pulling dust off is quite difficult. Your better off blowing compressed air for future reference. The light with a barrel is the power to the HDD. This is strange as it usually flickers during activity periods.

If you have enough confidence I would recommend completely disassembling and reassembling your PC. While your doing this you should check for any damage on your motherboard.

Apart from this there's not much you can do. Something is either loose or broken. Lets hope for loose as contrary to belief computer hardware is quite durable.

vacuums build up static electricity, so you really shouldn't vacuum your pc...so you could have possibly damaged a component or two with the static buildup...
