Alright, I'm at my wit's end with this computer, and I desperately need help.
First off, specs:
i5 6600k (not overclocked)
MSi GTX 970
16GB DDR4 2400Mhz RAM
MSi B150M Bazooka motherboard
EVGA 750W Supernova G2
So starting in mid-July of this year my computer would just randomly start to crash while playing games. Sometimes after several hours, sometimes on startup. I checked MSi Afterburner while playing and there wasn't anything crazy going on. What would happen is that both my displays would suddenly cut off and there'd be no more audio, but the fans on the computer were still going and the lights were on. On July 24th the computer crashed, and it never came back on. The light on my motherboard for CPU lit up signifying that there was an issue with it, and the fan didn't spin up when turned on. So I talked to Intel and they sent me a new CPU. That didn't fix the problem. So then I talked to MSi and they sent me a new motherboard. It came in today, and it *seemed* to work. I had to fiddle around with BIOS settings, and I went on ahead and swapped my watercooler for the standard Intel CPU fan, but my computer was back.
Next, I proceeded to update all my programs and drivers (and Windows 10 made sure I had all the Windows updates I'd missed). Then I played Fallout 4 for a couple minutes and my computer crashed just like it did in mid-July. After restarting my computer I tried playing Sword Coast Legends and mit crashed right befoee I got to the main menu. I tried Mad Max (a game I had 50 hours in on this same computer before all my issues started happening) and it crashed the moment the game launched. I fiddled around with NVIDIA, making sure I had everything updated, checked MSi Afterburner to see if anything weird was going on and everything seemed to be fine. And just like last time, my computer has stopped turning on. The light for CPU is lit and the CPU fan doesn't spin while everything else seems to be working fine.
At this point I just don't know what to do. I don't have the money for another GPU, and I just want to use my computer again after 3 months of not being able to. I really don't want to not have a computer during winter vacation from college.
