hey there, i have an 'envy' laptop which i just started using for studying. problem is that nothing will download to my hard drive which is literally 916gb free of 916gb. everything has installed onto my ssd which only has around 100 gb. because the pc is not using the hard drive it's constantly really slow since the disk is always at 100 percent. how do i fix this?

Sounds like a couple of issues there the way I'm reading it.

  1. Your HDD isn't being used as a save location for internet downloads.
  2. Disk usage is at 100%.

To follow up 1, is the HDD formatted? Can you save files to it normally rather than just internet downloads?

To follow up 2, which disk is at 100% usage? There are some processes in Windows 10 which can send the disk usage to 100%. I'd be a bit concerned if it's the SSD.

Downloads location is also set individually in the browsers.
For Windows 10 you can change the Users Download folder by opening File Explorer, rt click on Downloads on the left, select Properties, go to the Location tab and enter in the new location. This wil only effect the Edge Browser i believe. Other browsers have their own download location setting that you will need to update.

Don't forget to move things from the C:\ Users\Downloads to either the new location or the trash.
