This morning I had a strange experience with my computer, which has worked very well before.
When I pressed the power button, nothing happened. No fans, no lights, nothing. I pressed it a few times, tried pressing the reset button, checked the power cable, etc. Nothing happened.
Then, I went off to make breakfast, and when I came back the computer powered on without me pressing the button. The delay between the power up and the last time I pressed the button must have been 2-3 minutes easily.
From what I read, I think it might be an issue with the power supply? I believe it is 3 or maybe 4 years old so that would not be overly surprising. I just wanted to check if I had the right idea before going out and buying a new PSU.
Anything I can do to zero in on the problem and figure out just what component is having trouble? Could it be something other than the PSU?
