I had an AMD before upgrading to Intel. Everything was working fine.
Specs:
Intel I5 - 3570K
GTX 660 SC
8GB of Ram (HyperX DDR3)
650W PSU Antec
EVO 12 Heatsink
MSI z77a-gd55
before posting I did quite a search on how to fix this issue. I did the checklists several times (I'm talking about driving back and forth to frys (30 mins away) to get the correct components).
I have no clue what it can be other than the motherboard at this point. I was just kind of wondering what do you guys believe it is.
It has no beeps nor display - just cycles multiple times > first one being a good 6-8 seconds, then slowly shutting off faster than resetting to 6-8 seconds again.I made sure thermalpaste was correctly inputted with just a small (rice size) and heatsink right on top with screws. I inputted 8 pin and the main components for the front panel.
What I forgot was there were 2 brass screws that I forgot to input under the board I have no clue until I powered it on and looked around. (This is one reason why.)
I also used a drill to drill the screws onto the board to the brass screws. (Second reason why.)
I used the "Paperclip" method to boot up my PSU and the fans were running properly.
I took off the RAM and it begun to beep 3 times (memory failure)
I took off the graphics card and it still decided to power off.
I stripped it all the way down to just heatsink, cpu, and ram. It still has powered off with no beeps.
My question here is - is it the CPU being overcooked? or Is it PSU too less WATTS? finally, Is the motherboard fried?
Thank you!
