Computer powers on but no display.

I tried turning my computer on, it powers on but the computer display does not come on,its completely black and then the monitor goes to sleep.I tried plugging the computer into the motherboards DVI port and still no display.All the fans in the system are spinning, though the system has some dust on the fans and around. The computer specs are:intel I7 2600,500W PSU, 6GB DDR3 RAM, and a amd radeon HD 7770 graphics card.

Only the graphics card ports can be used when a GPU is connected. Make sure the power cable for the graphics card is plugged in. Also try removing the graphics card and using the onboard graphics.

I removed the the video card, and connected the monitor to the onboard graphics card.This is working fine the display comes on and the computer boots up, but whenever i attempt to install the onboard graphics driver or browse, the monitor screen turns black and freezes the only thing I can do is manually shut off the system and try again, then it boots again normal, but if i trying browsing or loading a page it the screen turns black again and freezes.The system is an HP H8-1240
