Computer powers on, no display, but works after reset

Hello everyone,

It doesn't happen all the time, but when I start up my computer the fan and everything is on, but nothing displays. If I hit the reset button, everything starts to work again. Tried looking online but no one had the same problem as i did.

Anyone have an idea?

I remember having that problem many moons ago, turned out the monitor had intermittent fault which I proved by borrowing another monitor which never failed to come on properly. I kept the borrowed one for a week till I was sure, then I bought myself a new one.
