Computer printers with inexpensive cartridges

Hello,
I am a non-compute minded UK pensioner - my Hewlett Packard 843C - brilliant litle workhorse has finally given up. Can anyone recommend a good replacement which doesn't have ridiculously expensive cartridges? ( don't need colour. Thanks.

[#000ff]From your spelling of colour, I assume you're British and the best bet on this side of the pond is Epson. Cartiridges are faily inexpensive and you need only to replace the empty one and not all five at once.
