Yes.... most of that is true, but I just wanted some advice on which CPU on should go for in the PC I want... Couldn't decide between the 12700k or the 12900k? So I came here looking for "honest" advice, I would go ask on reddit, but I know that website tends too be full of trolls...

As far as I can see, there isn't a whole lot of difference between those 2.
Pick one and move on.

I opened up my PCPP List, forgot to mention it

Only problem is trying to get the LGA 1700 Kit for the AIO, Corsair tends to be real "finicky" when it comes to usernames & passwords.... (At-least for me)

All though I do see that Amazon and Best Buy sell the LGA 1700 Retrofit Kit that I need, but I can't find it on the websites

I did realize I was missing some fans so I went to update the build, and added some for the AIO Radiator (Updated) 12900k PC

To weigh in on the used vs new decision: always a gamble to buy used. Most people are honest and will tell you if there's something wrong with the parts, but someone will have spilled coffee on their system, dried it, and sold it off as a "used but nothing wrong" item. I bought an open box motherboard for my current build: seemingly ok except when turning it on, it would try to boot, restart once and then boot successfully. Ignoring that was probably a bad decision, as the board failed in around 2 years. Not new, so no RMA. That was some expensive savings.

The EVGA FTW3 Ultra Gaming RTX 3090 Ti, was the GPU I was aiming for, I could look into an ASUS ROG Strix 3090 Ti But I really wanted the EVGA GPU since they (EVGA) doesn't make GPUs anymore...

As for price, I was hoping to find one for around ~$800-$1,000 for the GPU, Hopefully?

Also I was looking to get x2 1440p Monitors too, my 1080p monitors are ok, but I really want to upgrade

You can do better with your budget. Split the cost of that card and say you get a used 3090 Ti for $900 which makes the total cost of your build $2600 for old tech including DDR4, less performance and uses more power. The $800 RTX 4070 Ti gets one less FPS on average vs the RTX 3090 Ti at 1440P using way less wattage not to mention that unlike the older generation 30XX series cards, the 40XX cards support DLSS3.

Still trying to figure out the reason why an over priced, underwhelming 12900k vs a 13700 which does basically the same, with half the cooling requirements, half the power requirements, costs the same $400 new, and has better scheduling.

Unless I've missing something, if you live in the USA then your budget $2,850 should be quite sufficient. I would actually look at the 4080 and not the older 30 series cards. The below is a tiny bit over your budget but does get you DDR5 6000. I couldn't see the Asus Tuf 4080 on Amazon, however it's available for $1,400 directly from Newegg so it would still be the GPU I would go for. The 4080 would work well with a 12900K. You mentioned undervolting in an earlier post. I would highly recommend doing this, Alder Lake seems to respond quite well to it and it takes some of the heat and power consumption away.

Rather than buying i9-12900K and RTX 3090 Ti, where you want to undervolt them to lower levels, equal to i7-12700K and RTX 3080 Ti; better buy i7-12700K and RTX 3080 Ti off the bat. Saving money + time and effort otherwise spent on undervolting.

To be honest I did title this post of how a troll would, thinking I could get a deal of something used and save money, But I was just looking for honest advice on which CPU to go for my new main PC.... Couldn't decide between a 12700k or a 12900k? But I honestly I would rather go buy all new parts, least then I'll have a warranty/RMA window just incase something craps out

But I did like this build: 12900k + RTX 4080 (ASUS TUF)

Bare in mind the 13700K is very similar to the 12900K and actually a tiny bit faster. Where I live the former is cheaper than the 12900K.

Buying used is good cuz you can find a very nice deal and later you can sell it if you want for almost the price you paid, you "lose" less money when you sell it.
I like buying used but its always budget pcs, never bought something that expensive.
Its a hard question, depends on many things.
