I built a system last May (2011) and it worked great, at first. Then it started randomly crashing in July. RMA'ed the Motherboard and it seemed to fix the problem. Then in October, same issue. Crash randomly, but rarely would i see a BSOD. I again sent the motherboard in to get "fixed" and reinstalled it. After about 2 more months, the computer began to crash again, so I started to look elsewhere for problems.
System Specs:
Asus Sabertooth x58 motherboard
Intel core i7-960 CPU
Corsair Vengence DDR3-1600 Ram (2x 4GB sticks)
Segate hybrid 500GB HDD(OS)
WD Caviar Green 2TB HDD (Data)
GTX 480 GPU
Kingpin LZ-1000 1000W power supply
Antec 1200 case
I have done a fresh install of Windows, onto a different HDD, gives same results, eliminating the HDD.
I have swapped my GTX 480 with a friend's GTX 465, same issue, not GPU
I assume the motherboard is good at this point, and have no reason to suspect it again
I think it is RAM, but after running Memtest for 27 hours it is not ram, but after reading how it can miss things I am not convinced.
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
