Computer randomly freezing every 1-2 minutes or so

a week ago when i was playing overwatch the game started to take longer to load, and random freezes were happening (I could still move the mouse around and hear what was going on though) At first i shrugged it off mostly as a issue with overwatch. However this became worse and worse to the point were it's now happening every minute or so on the desktop, making it awful to do anything. Scanning my computer i found no viruses and the console command also told me everything's running perfectly fine too. I also discovered by shutting down my computer and giving it a few hours temporary gets rid of the issue, but none the less it's incredibly annoying, Anyone have any idea what could be causing these constent freezes?

What are the temperatures of your CPU and GPU ? What does the SMART status of the HD say? Since shutting down (and cooling down) brings things back, a thermal problem would be the first avenue of investigation.
