Computer Randomly Restarts

Hello, I have been having problems with my computer for a couple of months now. It seems that no matter what I'm doing, watching Netflix, Youtube, playing a game, or just browsing the internet, my computer always randomly restarts at least once a day. It started happenning about a month and half after I got my new R9 390, and I have tryed many, many methods to no avail. Upgrading to Windows 10 fixed the problem for 2 weeks, but now it is happenning again.

My temperatures are normal in my computer, so that can't be causing it. I also did an extended memtest and everything showed up fine. My PSU is also 750W, so that should be enough.

If anyone can help me identify and solve the probem, I would be thankful.

random reboots are usually a power problem, happens when the RAM loses power and well reboots. the power draw from the 390 could be causing it if the PSU is failing.your sure the power supply is good? reboot and test the RAM one stick at a time.

750w on it's own is fairly meaningless, we need make and model of PSU as the poor quality psu's lie about spec. We also need full pc spec.

The other thing you can do is after a random restart look in event viewer, it will give you some sort of reason. If it says something like kernal power then its highly likely a psu problem

Hey, Thank you guys for responding.

My PSU is a Corsair 750 watt Modular ATX/EPS Bronze Certified.
My specs are:
GPU: R9 390 Nitro
CPU; I7 3770k
16 GB of RAM
1 SSD 120 GB
1 TB HDD and 1 500 GB HDD
OS: Windows 10 64 bit.

If the PSU is a CX (worst) or VS (only slightly better) then a faulty PSU is quite possible. The CX has particularly bad reputation for failing.

Have you checked event viewer following a restart?

The server {784E29F4-5EBE-4279-9948-1E8FE941646D} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

I just increased the maximum to 128 Mb for the ready boot. Otherwise, those are the only errors showing up save for regular warnings.

Ok so my computer just randomly restarted 2 times since my last post. I am still getting this ready boot error:

I even boosted the ReadyBoot Access memory to 129 mb.

Unfortunately the only other PSU I have is a 600 watt PSU, which is not enough for my computer. If it was a power problem wouldn't it be happening during high CPU load? My computer crashes even when put on sleep mode.

meaning it won't wake up and you have to force reboot?
I am simply following my original train of thought.
random reboots are usually a power supply problem/ram. did you test the ram 1 stick at a time? then end of the readyboost error "or lost power unexpectedly". you have already increased the size. what's left? power. power supply, capacitor issues on motherboard, faulty power setting?
you can swap the power supply and eliminate that as a suspect. as for testing for a software issue I would suggest booting another environment, linux from a thumb drive as example, and wait and see if the issue appears under different software. if it does then the issue has to be hardware.

To test each stick at a time would I have to physically pull them out? Also, is there anyway to see if it is the PSU other than plugging a whole different one in? I just got past the return date on my PSU, and can't refund it. I also can't afford another one of that power or higher at the moment.

As for the restarts on sleep mode, I'll come back from over night and see the login page. When I go to the event viewer, it says that the computer unexpectedly restarted in the middle of the night. This doesn't make sense if it were a PSU issue to me, because wouldn't it shut off when I'm running a game rather than when its on sleep mode?

Finally, the random restarts seem to be every 24 hours almost on the dot. I'll be on my computer when I get home at 4:00 PM, and it will randomly crash anywhere from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. No matter what I'm doing. This happens about 80% of the time. The other 20% is over night.

yes. remove all but one stick and run the system, run memtest for a half an hour. if everything is good repeat with another stick. repeat till all sticks are tested good.

are you running with a UPS? i ask because the regularity of the reboots make me think there maybe something turning on at the same time that is causing a brownout, momentary loss of power.

No, I do not have a UPS in my computer, but I will try out the memtest solution. The reboots have suddenly become less frequent, around one every 3 days, instead of once a day. I'm not sure why this happened, as for those 2 days of no reboots, I was on my computer for around 8-9 hours.
