Computer randomly shut off

My computer randomly shut off and turned back on instantly and I have no idea why. Literally just fully shut down no warnings no windows screen nothing just black and then everything powered back on and I'm really worried right now. Can someone help?

Check the temperatures under load.

I think that may be the problem, but I'm concerned it may be a PSU failure.

Either temperatures, or power supply. Sometimes, wrong drivers or graphics card. Therefore, I suggest checking firstly the temperatures. Use hwmonitor or other similar.

Post your CPU temps - at idle and while gaming. How did you measure them?

Post your 12v, 5v and 3.3 readings from bios or mobo utility software - to check your PSU.

Is there anyway to check past temperatures? I have speedfan and HWMonitor installed. Checking them underload now.

How would I go about checking the temperature of my PSU?

Only if the PSU comes with a monitoring program.

Okay well I don't think it's my PSU as everything is working fine and there doesn't appear to be smoke or anything...could it have been my cpu overheating? I was playing elite: dangerous on ultra and not monitoring temperatures...and when I opened up my case the area around the cpu was extra hot.

What cooler using? Are you OC-ing?
Try using hwmonitor pro and check the temperatures graph after playing.

Just using stock fan ATM, and I'm not Overclocking. Doing that with HWmonitor pro right now.
