computer randomly stops outputing to screen

my computer will sometimes randomly stop outputting anything to the screen i am not sure why. i was told to use msi live update 6 to update my drivers but the app does not work and i am not sure why. whenever i try to play a game on steam it will stop outputing within a minite or two of starting. please help in any way that you can it would be much apreciated

monitor: Toshiba flat screen tv
Motherboard: Msi B150 gaming m3
Graphics card:Msi R9 380 gameing 4G
Power supply: corsair 600W 80+
Ram: corsair vengeance 8GB 2x4
HDD: 1Tb Seagate drive
Processer: intel i-5 6600k

I don't know to much but
Try checking your HDMI cable and/or port
Try testing with another monitor/TV
If you have another PC, laptop or game console try that with the monitor

tv works just fine with my xbox hooked up to it i think it is a pc issue just not sure what it is thanks for trying your best to help i appreciate it
