Hi guys.
I am afraid I am new to building computers and such, but I recently bought a Lenovo H-50 from PCWORLD and what a mistake that was. The case is far too small for me to adapt a decent graphics card into it and a decent power supply. I need to buy a new bare bones case to put elements into. But i was wondering, can any motherboard fit into any case? Or do only certain ones fit?. I cant afford to buy a new one, so I was planning on just taking the the main components out of the Lenovo and attaching them into a bigger case. Can this be done?.

Thank you for your time.

You´d need to confirm the size of your mobo (micro-atx, atx, mini-atx, etc.) and see if it fits the cabinet you want.

Be aware that prebuilt pcs - especially from major brands like lenovo, hp etc. may have non-standard sized computer parts inside. I´ve seen some oddities in prebuilt office HP pc that doesn´t fit into standard towers. Odd-sized psu´s are not uncommon, especially for slim-sized cabinets.

My guess is that is has a mini-atx, and you need a cabinet that supports mini-atx sized mobos.

You´d want to see if the psu has enough power to support the GPU you want.

If this is your PC http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/desktops/lenovo/h-series/h50-intel/#galleryPhoto it has a micro atx board. So your mobo would fit in every case that is not a mini itx MITX. Meaning that you need at least four slots on the back of the case. If it is bigger (ATX) you will have absolutely no problem.

+1 For the PSU. Generally they tend to use whatever is cheaper so i would consider buying something decent around 550w.

It can definitely be done although it is going to be a major PITA

Yes that is my computer. Sorry this reply is so late. So I could just buy a bare tower that is compatible with a Micro ATX board, and transfer my Radeon graphics card and my new power unit. I have recently got a decent power unit that should be more than able to power that graphics card and the computer and motherboard etc.. That too is also rather large. I need a decent sized case. Any ideas where to look?.

Yes, you could just transfer everything from one case to another just like that. If you haven't done a build yourself in the past, I would suggest watching some tutorials first. My favorites are by Carrey Holtzman, check him out on YT.

It simply depends on your budget. My top choices now would be: Fractal Design Define S and the Enthoo Pro M. They are budget cases and you can throw anything at them size wise. Also the Aero series by Aerocool is pretty decent for the money. The choices are infinite and the case choice is purely subjective.

Could I use a case like This? It says Midi on it, could it still fit in what i need too or is it too small?.
