Computer recently acting up

I have been having an issue with my computer recently. When i play video games i get lag spikes and frequently low fps. This only started happening recently. I would say it started about a week ago. If i were to guess it is my graphics card or CPU. I am not really sure how to provide information on my system or all that. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce gtx 760
Procsssor: Amd FX 6300 Six-Core- Processor

I have 8 gigs of ram and my pc is about year and a half old. I also forgot to include this in the main post i tend to leave the computer on at night. Thanks for taking the time to reply

try to check GPU and CPU usage and temps on MSI Afterburner while playing, post results here.

Yes, the CPU and GPU temps are important, does any game your playing start lagginf after a while or immdiatley when you start?

Also, has you or anyone else given your computer a good service because if you keep it on all night (which is not good, turn it off) it means the fans are sucking in more and more dust, in the end (since your computer is over a year old) it has so dust underneath the fan, so the CPU\GPU may be overheating causing game lags
