Hello,
I recently put a computer together for my wife and it works so well i decided to put the same computer together for myself. I did the exact same build and steps putting it together but for some reason it started to reset itself at random points when online or opening an app that goes online...google, explorer, online video game etc. I used a windows 7 CD to install the OS. at first it only happened every so often but it seemed to increase when installing windows updates. I even did a couple clean installs of windows and tried to limit the updates but eventually windows snuck them in and I couldn't go online at all without the PC restarting. I'm at a loss.

I've tried taking my Geforce GTX 950 graphics card out to see if it would reset while only on the motherboard integrated graphics and it did...thought it might be the power supply so I got a higher watt new one but it still persisted. I unplugged everything and reinstalled it all, even the CPU ( with new thermal paste of course ) but no dice. I even went and updated to windows 10 in hopes that somehow that will fix the problem...it got worse. it started restarting and soon as I clicked on a program.

Well right now I'm doing another clean install of windows 7 after frantically figuring out how to get 10 off. I have a feeling the resetting will persist but will be manageable at first. Any help and insight will be greatly appreciated!

Those TR2 units I do not believe are quality power supplies. I would start off with getting a better tier 1 or 2 unit. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

You can often find XFX 550w's for around $55 and they are plenty for that setup. That particular board can sometimes be finicky with ram. I had a couple of them, at one time. Try setting the ram to 1333, in the bios.

well I got a new power supply. Same as the one I have on the exact same build that is working smoothly. and I also tried changing the memory to 1333 mhz but it still resets like somebody hit the reset button when I go online... or when I go on DDO sometimes...I just don't get it...can't pinpoint the problem

Ok so I went into msconfig>boot tab>advanced options and checked the maximum memory and got a number of 8194 or something like that. I found a tip to bring that down so I put it to 8000 and restarted the PC. it seemed to do work . but i went back to the same msconfig > maximum memory again to see how it looks now and it was set to 3904 with no option to make it higher. So, at the moment I am gonna go with my problem being a bad RAM card... Hopefully the problem is solved...

Edit: it is still restarting randomly, waiting for new RAM card to arrive to see if that is the case.

Well I got new Ram...the resets are still happening. it's like somebody comes up and just hits the reset button whenever I'm online or just looking at a picture. new quality power source, extra fans to keep it cool. still no resolve. about to give up, seems nobody can solve this, last guess is all this new stuff is just faulty somehow. anybody? anybody here have experience with this sort of thing? IRQ conflict maybe? ugh. so frustrating.

Well I just installed the new motherboard! Low and behold it's still resets randomly while browsing the internet. It will work for a short while then Boom, like somebody hit the reset button... Aaargh!. I think I'm down to a faulty CPU or maybe the graphics card, but it did it even without the graphics card in...so frustrating...Maybe the HHD. that link sent me to some anime page lol... HELP!! I'm about to blow up!

I thought that might be the case lol. so many links on the page though I didn't want to risk it. My PC wouldn't stay online long enough to download anything anyway. Guess I coulda maybe downloaded in safe mode... Anyway, My frustration got to a point that I just sent my PC to the shop. I couldn't deal with the heartbreak anymore. I'm guessing that it is a faulty HDD though. My $550 build is gonna end up being a $650+ build when all is said and done I imagine ...ugh

So, the shop couldn't Diagnose what is wrong. They just said "Sometimes all the parts can be ok but it just wont work for some reason"... anybody have any clues? PC seems to work fine in safe mode with network and offline seems fine...It's just when it has to go online that it starts to randomly reboot... I'm at a loss and it seems like the experts are also
