Computer restarting when trying to play Bioshock Infinite?

I built my first PC a couple of months ago and was pretty pleased with the result, and bought various games from steam, including Bioshock Infinite. This all worked nicely, and then I bought Far Cry 4, but as I had scrimped on the graphics card a bit (not clever, I know), I had to drop the quality right down to get anywhere close to 30fps, which was very frustrating.

I recently I decided to upgrade my graphics card and move from hdd to ssd, in a hope to be able to play all my games on max settings at 2560 x 1440, so I got a Samsung 840 evo 250gb ssd, and a Radeon r9 295x2 in a hope to future-proof my PC for a bit. Installation of both components has gone off without a hitch, and now Far Cry 4 looks beautiful and plays with no problem. However, I started up Bioshock Infinite and went into the settings to increase them, and the computer suddenly restarted without warning. I tried again, with the same result. I then tried playing the game on the settings it was already on, and after loading the game up, I walked forward and the PC restarted again.

I tried to play Just Cause 2, and that worked fine up until I tried to change the settings on the in-game menu, at which point the PC restarted. I don't know whether the problem is with steam, as I have the hard copy of FC4 and that works fine, or whether it's a power problem, or something else.

I entered the BIOS when it restarted, and the CPU temperature was only 46*C, all my drivers are up to date, and I have changed the system failure settings so the PC shouldn't restart instantly, it should display the blue screen with the error code on it, but it hasn't worked for whatever reason.

My PC specs are:
CPU: AMD FX 6300
GPU: Radeon R9 295x2
Power Supply: EVGA 500w

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Here is one such PSU:

Note its size. Your case may have issues accommodating it. Also, your GPU and CPU are mismatched in terms of performance levels. The FX6300 is not powerful enough to fully take advantage of the R9 295x2. You would need to step up to a higher end Intel i5 or i7 to take full advantage of the GPU horsepower you have.

None of this matters if you don't address the power issue though.

I thought that may have been the case, could you recommend what would be the minimum power wattage supply I might need?

Aria.com usually, but anywhere within the UK is fine.
