Computer restarting with a delay randomly.

My computer just turns off randomly, I don't have to be doing anything like playing a game for it to turn off. When it turns off, sometimes it'll turn on instantly, and other times there will be a delay (max I've encountered is a minute). Pressing the power button when it has turned itself on doesn't do anything so I have to wait. I'm not quite sure why this is happening. I am positive these aren't blue screens, I am checking a log and when my PC turns off there is no blue screen log about it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Dwarf Face. It sounds like your CPU is shutting down as it is getting too hot. Could you run RealTemp (http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/) and tell mw the temperatures of your CPU? When a CPU shuts down, its a last resort to avoid it from being damaged so no logs are left and there is no BSOD as Windows doesn't know about the shutdown.

you prob didn't put any thermal past on it.
or

you took out the CPU fan and forgot to change the thermal past. (once you remove the FAN from the CPU you always have to change the thermal past because that old thermal past is now not correctly put on the CPU)

Just to add, yesterday I found out it occurs more frequently in games. I was in a game of CS:GO and it did it three times, same with Smite and Heroes of the Storm. I also left my PC on over night with only skype and Google Chrome running and it was on the way I left it. I will be running the CPU temperature moniter and I'll get back to you shortly.

Can not changing the thermal paste make my PC do this? I did turn the CPU fan around because the fan and heatsink were pointed the wrong way. I didn't change the thermal paste after doing this.

yah you should of changed the Thermal past. that is exactly why your computer keeps shutting off. it's because it's reaching to high temps.

When the first time you put on thermal past and use the computer for lets say even a week or 2. the thermal past becomes more hardened. Once the thermal past becomes hardened and you take off the heat sink, you have to remove the old thermal past with 90+ alcohol and apply new one So it's 1 perfect surface of thermal past again. when it gets hardened and you remove the heat sink the thermal past is no longer 1 smooth surface.

Alright, I'll change the thermal paste, if this isn't the issue, could there be a problem with the PSU? And do you know why sometimes it takes longer for my PC to turn itself on then other times when it turns off because of this? I'm just curious.

It shut down again not even a minute into the game. Then it turned back on and I wasn't even in a game when it did it again. I don't know what to do anymore.

IT just did it about six times in less then a few minutes. I am currently on my phone answering because it is being really unstable. I also can no longer hear any sound.

ok turn on your computer and try to download "speed fan" as quick as possible before it shuts down. and look at the CPU temp.

Also look at the Debug LED light on the motherboard when you turn it on. Does it stay on a Code after turning it on? the Debug LED is located right next to your red Start button on the motherboard
