So my buddy just moved in with me and another friend and pulled his old Alienware out of storage. (Probably from like 2010 or something. Has a 560ti in it).
I honestly don't know much else about it. It's I'm pretty sure still Windows 7, it's got 12GB RAM, and the 560TI.
At first, it would just cycle on and off quickly. Then at other times, it would stay on for a couple seconds and then shut off..then click again like it tried again. Then other times, after letting it sit, it would boot all the way to the windows loading screen but soon as the logo went away it would just sit on a lit up black screen (backlights on..but the screen is black) and even 10-15min later..same thing. Another time it got to windows' recovery tool..but then ended up either going black or shutting off. Then this morning it booted up to the desktop and then shut back off.
We've tried resetting the CMOS battery. We've tried all USB's unplugged. We've tried Reseating everything but the CPU. We've tried unplugging video card. I took one stick of RAM out, then two sticks out, then three sticks out. (3 sticks total). I did not run each one in each slot one at a time though.
Ideas?
