I just built this PC about 6 months ago and it has always run like a champ, but recently it's starting to shit out on me. Boot up is fine, instant fast, but opening applications, tabs, and gaming have all significantly slowed. I did a system restore recently that fixed the problem for a few weeks but now it's back to dragging ass.

I torrent the occasional file so it's very possible I've downloaded something malicious but my Avast is saying my system is totally fine.

What could be doing this? I'd rather not have to do a restore again -.-

Solution
download a trial of malwarebytes premium and run a full scan. Id also run CCleaner, check startup items and disable anything that does not need to run when the computer powers up. An example would be steam. Disabling steam at startup doesn't disable steam all together. Delete scheduled tasks in CCleaner as well. This may help a bit.
Avast is free and not really great for protecting your system you generally get what you pay for and if you are torrenting then I personally recommend bitdefender you can pick up a key ebay very cheap. Back to the real problem try running (Wise Care 365) on it see if that helps .
