computer screen black after new cpu

So I have a Abit IP35-E LGA775 which supports Intel 2 Duo, Extreme and Quad. I removed my old Duo and added a Quad and all I get now is a black screen. checked connectors, GPU, PSU wattage (500 watt) and all other connectors and ram as well. When I install the CPU i cleared CMOS then it rebooted 2 times then started up but gives me a black screen

Any ideas
