Okay, so this is my problem... I restarted my computer and when I logged in again my background was reset, my toolbar was reset, my browser settings and everything was reset and half of the icons from my desktop were reset.
However, I have gone to Users --> (My user) --> Desktop and it shows that the icons that were deleted are still actually there. I am not sure what happened to reset all of my settings and everything like that but I need help.
Also when I restart my computer it just keeps resetting browser settings and toolbar, but not deleting more things off of the desktop. I don't have any extra space on my hard drive leading me to believe that I haven't actually lost anything.
