Question Computer shorts on startup with graphics card in. When putting graphics card in after boot, I am able to restart computer and everything works fine.

Suspecting a graphics card short, and trying a new graphics card in the system today, but puzzled by the working card when plugged in after startup.

Specs:
Mobo: ROG Strix B470-F Gaming
GPU: ROG Strix 2080 A8G gaming
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
PSU: Corsair RM850x
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3000mhz

do you have the PCI-e power cables plugged into the card?

Also do not plug something into a power on/ running computer, you have the possibility of damaging the socket or item being plugged in.

I have both PCI-e power cables plugged into the card yes. I also have tried starting it up with one 8 pin, then the other, and with both disconnected.
