Computer shows solid color then crashes

So my friend's computer started to have an issue a while back where if he starts a game, it runs fine for a minute or so and then the screen suddenly turns to a random solid color and loops the current sound being played. The computer then restarts after about 10 seconds. The specs are:
Processor: fx-4300 3.8ghz
GPU: ASUS GTX 770 2gb
Memory: 2 2gb sticks and one 4gb
PSU: 800w cooler master

Any help would be appreciated!

How are the temperatures right before the crash? Also, has he ran memtest to see if his weird configuration of ram might be causing it?

Is his ram all the same speed and brand?
