Computer shut down

iam going crazy my computer shuts down when i try to burn a cd
iam new to this and i dont know what to do i hope this can be fixed

Check device manager + event viewer for system errors.

How about a little background....ie, did this just begin, was it working yesterday ? Have you tried to repair your OS ?

its just had its power supply fixed and the it is only when i put the disk in to burn it just shuts off wat is an os i am new to tthe computer world so keep it simple thanks this is going to be so frustrating for you to as well

OS is Operating System, in your case Windows XP. But your problem appears to be hardware related, since your PSU was replaced (Power Supply Unit).
Talk to whoever replaced it.
