The other day i went to boot up computer and it just shunut down after 3 seconds or so. Would do that for a few tries then work fine. So i stopped shutting down. Restarts worked ok but if i left off too long same problem. Today it shut down middle of using and now 3 second shut down. In that 3 seconds everything lights up and spins. All 6 case fans, cpu cooler fan attached to radiator, psu fan, gpu fans. I tried different plugs and noticed when i unplug epu cable ot doesnt shut down but doesn't fully boot. When inplug in shuts down.

Asus msa99fx pro r2.0 motherboard
Not sure cpu but it's the amd 8 core
Msi 970 gtx gpu
Thermaltake toughpower grand 1050w
16gb ram
Cooler master water cooler cpu.

System was built year ago and worked fine whole time

Oh i just noticed something. When working good i would hear a fan ramp up. Think psu? Now as soon as it starts to ramp up thats when it shuts down. Or no ramp at all. Im leaning towards psu but need help. Thanks

Solution
The PSU is generally the most obvious culprit in a situation like that. But not always. My desktop was doing the same thing. My CPU cooling fan was bad. It would shut the computer down almost immediately. Hadn't had time to get hot, I guess the BIOS could tell that the fan wasn't there and would just shut down to protect the system.
Your psu is faulty, take it out before something happens... Test the psu after disconnecting from the motherboard by plugging in to the mainboard, attach 3 fans with molex adapters and let it run for 30 mins. If you register any kind of odd behavior or if one of the fans stop spinning... its time for a change... Many may disagree with this method....

Im using my gpu. Im leaning towards psu after reading a few posts. Someone had similar issue where if you spam power button like was doing would boot. Replaced psu and he was good. Just want to verify here first.
