I have just begun my first computer build. I've finished building it all besides the graphics card. I plan to purchase a gtx 660 very soon.

I have the motherboard, psu, cpu, ram, and all that other stuff installed. Here are my specs:
MSI 970A-G46 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
AMD FX-8120 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W Power Supply

I have a problem though; when I turn on my computer just to see if it is working correctly, it turns on for just a moment. All of my fans spin, my heatsink spins, and my led lights turn on. After about 2 seconds, the whole computer just turns off. Why does it do this? Be reminded I have everything installed besides a gpu, and the motherboard does not have onboard video, I don't know if that provides any help.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I only have one stick of ram so that's out of the question. I've double checked the power connectors and they are all plugged in correctly. Also, the computer does not beep when I turn it on.

You list you posted showed 8GB (2x4GB) so assumed you had two. Remove the ram and retry it. Do you have another PC you can try the PSU from?

Followed the checklist still isn't working. Took it all apart and put it together just as it says. Still just turns on for a few seconds and then turns off.
