Here is my problem. Computer runs fine for web, email and streaming video (netflix), but when under load (playing games) it will randomly shut down (anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to happen). When it shuts down, it doesn't want to start back up. When hitting the power button the front of case fans turn on, the hard drive powers up and both the cd and dvd drives receive power. The motherboard light is lit, but nothing connected to the motherboard gets power including the three additional fans in the case, the cooling system for the cpu, the video card and all the ports on the back panel. I have tried removing the side panel and putting a fan blowing onto the motherboard and video card to rule out heat. Right before shut down the temp on the cpu was 54 C and the video card was 60 C. Checked voltages on the psu and all are within normal range. There are no error codes after shutdown. When I finally get the computer to restart, cmos needs to be reset and time is reset. Am I looking at a motherboard issue or bad psu? Could the psu run normally most of the time, just to dip occassionally under load causing the problem (also explaining why I can't find a problem)?
