Apperently my BIOS settings reset themselves for some reason, and whenever i have another ram stick in my computer will turn on, then shut off 10 seconds later. but when i only have 1 ram stick in i can boot up just fine. I know its not a problem with my RAM sticks because they were working 3 hours ago perfectly. They are Corsair Vengeance sticks with XMP turned on, I also have a GIGABYTE board and the bios is up to date. I have tried switching around their positions on my motherboard, and still no joy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because using only 8 gigs of RAM hurts

Could be a few things

1: a bad stick of memory
2: one stick is not rated for the same speeds. ie you bought two sticks at different times and they are not the same
3: The CPU memory controler can't handle those speeds with 2 sticks
4: The voltage needs to be increased on the memory controller to make higher speeds stable (very unlikely).

I would run Memtest86 with each stick individually with XMP enable and see if one comes up with errors.
