I've been recently upgrading my computer which was originally 4GB ram, intel core 2 duo.

First of all I got a new mobo, CPU and RAM together which worked perfectly.

My mobo is:

MB Brand : Gigabyte
MB Model : M68MT-S2
NB : NVIDIA GeForce 7025 rev A3
SB : NVIDIA nForce 630a rev A2

My CPU is an AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core Processor

and lastly, my ram is RAM : 8192 MB DDR3 Dual Channel

Just today, I received a new graphics card, this is an Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti which has a default clock speed of 975Mhz which can be changed between 800Mhz and 1.125 Ghz.

Now, I ran the game Dead Island on balanced graphics settings with the clock speed at the default 975Mhz. It runs for about a minute, then my computer decided to shut down. I am wondering if this a need of a new power supply or a new case.

My power supply is 350W

I'm pretty sure you PSU is way too weak for your graphics card, and for your whole system in general. You need a minnimum of a 400W PSU to run that GPU, most likely 500 though to be on the safe side, of a high quality PSU.

Your case would pretty much have nothing to do with it...unless you have no airflow in it and are getting very hot temps.
