Hi All,
I've been looking at various responses on the forum regarding this topic, but still felt it warranted making a separate post and seeing if I'm looking in the right direction; I hope that's alright?
My rig's growing a bit old, I built it about 6 years ago and it runs fine performance-wise, but have been having an intermittent issue with the computer shutting off under load. Some games it's fine (EVE Online, Fallout New Vegas come to mind) others like Overwatch, despite no drop in performance, will result in the computer shutting off instantly without warning after an indeterminate amount of time.
I am assuming this is a dodgy power supply unit after 6 years of gaming on it. I have downloaded Speedfan as per other topic instructions but I am not quite savvy enough to figure out what I should be looking for on the program.
This assumption could be misguided - maybe it's the RAM? Or the hard drive? CPU? I am well aware that my hard drive is heavily fragmented after analysing with Defraggler.
Any thoughts?
