Question Computer slow. Did the basic, still slow.

I used my antivirus (Windows Defender), antimalware (Malware Bytes), and AdW Cleaner. When I try to play, let's says, [The Outer Worlds], it's a bit laggy, everything being put into medium/low (like, shadow, would of course be set to low). Also set my performance option to high performance.

As for my task manager, actually Chrome is nearly at 1go with 5 tabs, and the antimalware service executable at 681mo (set it to 3AM every weeks in between, but still working now)

On startup, i got :
- Java Update Scheduler
- Realtek HD Audio Universal Service
- Windows Security notification icon
(sometime Discord is open, but only when I need it, so not currently, but will later (hey Shadowlands o/))

Looking at your partslist I see a minimal amount of RAM running at a slower speed than Ryzen likes and a hard drive vs M.2 NVME SSD. You also have a lower end video card. I don't really see any problem. It's a lower end build that will do what it can do.

Limiting startup programs to what's necessary may free some memory and be sure to get rid of any bloatware Lenovo graced you with, if any. You don't need Java update running at bootup. When gaming, use taskmanager to end process of everything you can except for windows programs. If you're unsure best to leave a program running until you can find out exactly what it is.

Monitor RAM useage and CPU/GPU temperatures to make sure there's no issues there. Others here may have additional ideas to help you.

Try defragmenting the hard drive. Disable any startup programs that you don't need to run in the background all time. Consider installing an SSD (helps with loading times and overall responsiveness).

The HD is regularly defragmenting, for the startup programs, I deactivated Java Updater, and set it to run once every weeks. I don't have much process used, so should be good.

How are you determining "slow"? Game FPS? Program open/close? Boot time? Internet performance?

Well, when I play the game, and i'm turning around, it's like my character got dizziness, it's like i'm turning around at lower than 30 fps (even though I didn't checked the fps).

I changed the resolution to 1680x1050, so it feel a less like it.

Edit : My GF, who has nearly the same computer than me, tested the game, all graphic to very high, and got no problem (same CPU / GPU).

Highest difference is the ram I guess. But still, stuttering performance in medium / low for me, having to get in 1650x1080, while she run it in all high setting make me think I may have done something wrong with my computer (even if it's far from being my first rodeo.

Should I use ZHPDiag or something ?
