computer sluggish at start up

my computer is very sluggish at start up sometimes . heres wat i have done . i have formatted my Hdrive (didnt help). i have changed the Hd to motherboard cable (it helped but still happenes ) i have checked my ram with mem test all good then i purchased system mechanic it finds the usual problems like registry problems so i dunno . can it be the hard drive . sometimes when i start up it wants run check on C drive for errors says its recommended

Check for badsectors and defrag your HDD, remove unwanted startup and do a malware and virus scann.

thanks did HDD BAD SECTOR SCAN and found errors and fixed them pc works way better thaanks again . should have thought of that
