Computer sometimes blackscreens after updates

Hey, some general info: custom built in july this year, installed some crappy pirated windows 7.
The problem I have been having is the computer sometimes only gets past the bios screen and then black screens, more commonly after I update & restart. It also happens if I only restart it, and very rarely if it has been turned off and I start it for the first time in the day.
So I'm wondering if this could be a deeper issue than just a pirated non-functional OS, thanks in advance!

As you said: Could be a deeper issue or just your OS so you could install a second windows OS demo version, boot from there and see if the black screen still occours

Could it be the HD or SSD overheating?
