I recently built a pretty impressive gaming rig since i no longer favor gaming consoles over PC gaming, so i have been playing some pretty high end games on my new 4k monitor with some beautiful graphics and after installing the free sound card that came with my new video card, the sound quality was impressive compared to the onbar sound input and it got me to thinking, i have been using the same $10 HP brand 2 speaker setup for probably 10 years now on all my computers, maybe i should upgrade them to get a more complete package with my new graphics...

So i asked a few friends who PC game and most said to get the Bose Companion 2 setup, but i feel like that is really not that big of an upgrade compared to my current 2 speaker setup, kinda want more bass for the explosions and such...

So after reading some, this setup is very highly rated on over a dozen pc speaker reviews... but the price makes me confused...

But then i was talking to my uncle during thanksgiving and i know he does a lot of pc gaming and he told me he uses a Sony brand TV sound bar with the 5.1 w/ sub setup for his computer speakers..

What do you guys think? this is the speakers i have been using for nearly 10 years now...

some people like 5.1/7.1 pc speaker set up. some like sound bars. some people plug there pc into a reciver and use there home speaker through a digitail audio port. some like headphones. your best bet is walk in to a best buys or micro center and listen to a few sets.

I actually did that, the closest best buy to me had no sound bars on display to listen to.. just for sale as regards to pc speakers they had the 4 bose setups, then they had only Logitech and insignia setups with the insignia ones sounding like garbage.. the only logitech setups on display for demo were all the higher end models that were $100 or more so i didnt get to check out any of the middle and lower end stuff..

Everyone's ears, rooms, expectation, wants and needs are different.

Personally? I couldn't use just a soundbar.
Or small PC speakers.
Or Bose anything (too expensive for what they deliver, IMHO).

What do you need?
And don't rely on what BestBuy has. You want sound, not marketing crap.
