Computer stars and turns off immediately

i have read and followed the steps in

my motherboard is breadborded
reset the cmos
removerd the graphic card and hard drive

it was working fine on ubuntu until i restarted it, then it never turned on again.
it first started for maybe 1 second, then the lights only blinked (red)
now finally nothing happens at all!

my power supply is corsair TX 750vv i have read that someone else with this exact same problem with this power supply

mobo:sabertoth x58
cpu: intel 990x
ram: corsair 24gb
watercooled: h80i

That PSU is probably the culprit. It was a good unit, back in the day, but it is pretty old. I would get a new unit tier 1 or 2. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

if i replace it do you think the computer will work agian?
it only cost me 30$ so it would not be to bad if that is the only thing that needs to be replaced

As you are getting absolutely nothing, it would lead me to believe that is the culprit.

If it doesn't work, just come back to this one. Other suspect would be motherboard.

hello i'm back. so i tested the PSU with another computer and it works on that one. so the PSU is not at fault here. what should i do know?

The only components is my MOBO, CPU and RAM.
The ram worked before this happened so i do not think anything is wrong with it.

so i belive it's either the CPU or MOBO (or maybe some other thing i have not thought of)

I would definitely lean towards motherboard then. CPU's can fail, but it is rare. I have only experienced a single cpu dying on me, in the 16yrs I have been building my own, and that was because a junk PSU dying and taking motherboard/cpu with it.

alright you where right! the motherboard had gone. luckly i live in norway and the goverment requires a 5 year guarante on all computer components. so the mobo was 4 years and 11 months old. i sent the parts to the seller and they replaced all the parts with completly new ones!!
That means a new CPU, watercooler, ram, and motherboard! http://i.imgur.com/fQyK6cB.jpg
