AMD FX-6300
R9 270 2GB
MB: MSI 970A-G43
Kingston 1600Mhz 4GB CL9 DDR3 x2 (one is Genesis, other is Savage)
SSD Crucial
PSU: STRAIGHT POWER 10, 500W
I build my pc 2 years ago, changed PSU and got more ram 1 year ago. 3 days ago it started freezing. I need to know which part is most likely to cause this.
About the freezing:
- sceen stays frozen
- sound stops
- all usb devices stay light up
- all fans keep spinning
- keyboard Caps/Num/Scroll locks dont light up when pressed
- it can happen any time, so far it froze when: starting windows, the screen where it asks if you want to start windows normally after hard reset, playing games, browsing
- usually it starts freezing after several hours of use but first time it froze after 5min. I turned it on and then ran smoothly for hours
- I dont get any BSODs
So far I tried:
- clean the pc
- test other hard disk
- run only with 1 of the memories(still kept freezing)
- reinstalled windows
Today I cleaned the pc better(took all apart) and visually checked MB and GPU but didnt find anything wierd. Then I ran some stress tests(FurMark and HeavyLoad), everything went OK. I guess it will freeze later today.
My guess is MB or PSU. The MB has pretty high temperatures since I bought it, up to 81C in load, 40C idle. But it is because it is just crap. I found other ppl have the same temperatures. I think I should claim the warranty on MB first.
Thanks for all help.
