Computer starts but can't enter Bios or Setup

Hey guys, so I have had this problem for a few years now but ignored it as I always found a way to boot. However, my feeling is I am not using max PC power.

So at first, when I start the PC, i have to press F1, otherwise it will just stay stuck on the first screen. So i press F1, wait for 3 beeping noises, and then it boots.

However, whenever I try to to enter Bios, after the 3 beeping noises, there is just a flashing "-" and nothing is happening. Anyone know why that might be? I also cannot enter Setup. Thank you.

Three beeps can mean several things depending on your system BIOS: https://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm Also check the motherboard manual or manufacturer website, this list is fairly old.

So its a hardware issue?

Sounds very much like it, most of the three beep errors are memory related, so try running with one stick in at a time to start with.
