This morning a fuse blew in my apartment, causing my computer to shut down improperly. Upon startup, I was told that there was an error and was presented the option to run the startup repair, which I did. When I tried to restart the computer, I was stuck on the welcome screen for 3-5 minutes, before the screen went all black (the mouse was still visible though).
I tried starting up a couple more times with the same results, and then re-ran the startup repair, as the computer recomended I use it again if I continued having issues. Now, when I try to log in, I don't even get the login screen...it just goes straight to black. I am able to run safe mode however.
How can I fix this without the original OS disc? It got lost when I moved.
UPDATE: I tried restoring the computer to an an earlier date, and now it is back to doing the long welcome screen before black...
