Computer starts up with black screen

I just perchased a custom built pc from Ironside Computers, the day received the pc I booted it up and it looked fine. Windows and everything worked. I didn't have time to install anything so I turn the computer off and when I come back later that day to power it on nothing happens, the monitor turns on to a black screen where I can hear the windows notification sound but nothing is being displayed.

If you can hear everything in the background progressing no problem, then the problem is likely with the monitor or the cable, not the computer.

First things to check - is everything plugged in, is the input correct, is it actually turned on, and have you tried a different outlet for your monitor power.

If that doesn't give positive results, check the cable next. for example, if you use display port, try using HDMI or DVI, basically whatever you have left.

Basically, try to isolate what the problem is with, the monitor, the cables, and/or the graphics card.
