Hello All,
I have done everything I could do, but nothing worked so I am here searching for help rather than paying x for some Geek Squad member to probably Google the same things I did. (No offense to any actual Geek Squaders out there.)
A couple months ago, while playing Skyrim, my computer froze. I tried all key commands to just close the game or do a restart of my rig, but nothing worked, so I shut it down with the power button. After that, all hell broke loose, as my rig turned on, but no signal was picked up on my monitor. I tried a different HDMI, I even tried plugging it into my TV, nothing.
My brother said it might be GPU since it sounded familiar to him when his GPU crapped out. We switched out GPUs, but nothing on mine and his worked. So not GPU?
We never got around to testing all other components and I have had this rig for about 5 years, so I thought, you know what, I got some money saved up, let's upgrade. Here's everything I have now:
MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard
MSI GeForce GTX 960
Seasonic X Series 1050W Power Supply
AMD FX-6300 6 Core Processor Black Edition
(I'd have to look in storage, if anyone needs to know my old gear, but please let me know if it should be mentioned to help out in any way.)
So after installing all of it, I was excited to turn my rig back on, but still no signal being picked up. It still turns on, lights and fans, but Monitor reads "No Signal."
I hope someone can help me out as it's just been sitting on my desk as I tinker with it and Google more options on what I can do. I'm practically half way to a new computer, but I want to figure out what happened and how to prevent or fix it in the future if it ever comes up.
