When I woke up this morning after leaving my computer running all night (while rendering an animation) when I woke up this morning, my monitor light was flashing (not unusual) but when I pushed a key bring the desktop back up nothing appeared but the ACER logo (which only appears when it's turned first on).
I tried pushing more keys and I got a beep (sticky keys), my computer's power light was on, Num lock and caps lock on my keyboard were lit andI could turn them off. My mouse lights up and it was lit. Everything seemed like it was just a minor inconvenience.
I held the computer's power button for about 10 seconds but it didn't turn off so, not thinking, I unplugged it.
When I p;lugged it back in, it turned on but still nothing on the monitor, After about 15 seconds it shut off. Now it won't turn back on at all, no fans,no lights, nothing that I can see. .
Something obviously happened while I was sleeping. The fact that everything else seemed to be working leads me to think it's not the power supply (but I don't have a spare so I can't test it). Anybody got any ideas?
