I built my rig about 5 months ago, and it worked great until recently. When it started to have frame loss on everything I played. It even stuttered and froze randomly on the desktop. I tried scanning it with every free anti malware/spybot program I could think of. Eventually I just gave in and decided to reformat it. After have a fresh new SSD and installing my graphics and other drivers that the problem was still occurring and the same rate it was before I formatted.

At this point I have tried switching out both my ram sticks to see if it was that, then I checked my SSD health and it checked out fine too. My GPU and CPU are not overheating, nor are they throttling.

It has to be a hardware problem but I don't where or how? If anyone can help shine some light on this I would really appreciate it.

Computer specs:
GTX 1080 Asus
Intel Core i7-6700k CPU
16 gigs of Corsair ram.
TX 750 power supply by co
MSI Z170A GAMING M7 with Intel Z170 Express ATX Motherboard
PNY SSD 500 gigs

Hello Boon20

Can you please check and make sure that the graphics driver is updated? If yes, and the issue is there, would you mind removing it and installing its earlier version just to see if that helps?

As you said, it may be some hardware issue but before going down that road, I would suggest you to try everything related to software and drivers.

Please report back for any further assistance.

Cheers!! :)

already up to date, still having the same problem.

If you follow the directions that were given to you, it just might work.

I rolled back the drivers too, sadly still having the same problems, I am about to take the card out next and using on board real quick.

Okay so it's actually worse now. So hopefully this rules out the gpu. I also made sure I had the on board driver installed too. So it definitely is a hardware problem. Least I think it is. Still not sure, I hope its not the mobo.

Okay I got the newest version and installed it into the bios. I don't think it fix'd it sadly.

I also got 2 blue screens regarding ram
Page fault in nonpaged area
and
bad pool caller

I have tried move my ram and taking one out, the stutter problem still persists.

Could it be my ram my mobo?

I went through them again and followed them, sadly none of them worked as well but I like that you guys are willing to help.

I recently swapped out my mobo ram and even ssd and got a new power supply it's still having these problems. So if its not any of these that just leaves the cpu. Because it jitters even on my on board drivers.
